Dear Sir
Reading a letter of impediment and serious allegations, sent to your office on 13th Inst concerning human rights breaches in a country whose candidature for EU accession is moving towards approval, combined with the no formal acknowledgment of its receipt is a serious want of etiquette and courtesy for a Crown Minister of a country supposed to be leading the fight against such conduct in supposed democratic societies.
While at the same time giving speeches of disapprobation on similar issues in principle, is not merely an inconsistency between an attitude on 'de jure' requiring a minimal 'de facto' intervention at least in some form of concern, where instances are placed before one for inspection, it reveals a policy agenda of omissions that is in every respect as culpable as acts of wilful negligence.
Moreover, since being made aware that this issue has exhausted all legal measures towards a remedy in the Country itself, Romania, and is being placed before the OHCHR and the guardians of the treaties in the EU, being treated likewise with wilful knowing negligence and omissions. I am in receipt of responses by other counties' offices and foreign ministers of the member states, that is gratifying to note that they have some residual formal practices that remain worthy in adherence to values apparently no longer upheld in the UK.
If you can square that with your conscience on the correspondence between arguments and acts, that is practicing what one preaches, without recognising the speciousness of what is being propounded, then the matter can rest with the unequivocal contextual inference there is a corresponding want of integrity in performance in a public office, and even attempted realisation of objectives.
If the earlier open letter to the EU commissioners, copied to your office, never reached you, then the public servant responsible is in want of his duty of care, that in my view is dismissable.
It is an equal misprision towards those who are supposed to be served, and negligence of a public official in his duty to bring such matters to the attention of the Minister himself.
You are not required to respond to this letter, since it is clearly an agenda you may not wish to be open with.
I certainly I am not interested in being advised of what procedures are available to me for seeking a remedy against the forces of bureaucracy in stale democracies filled with specious and disingenuous sophistry and cant. This is formal notice that is merely being made for the purpose of inclusion in a book being written concerning narrowing similarities of conduct between public officials under two apparently and formerly opposing ideologies. One has to question whether the accession countries are joining the EU, or is it the case that the EU countries are joining the accession countries by lowering their standards to make the task, and aggrandisements all that much easier to attain due to size and greater separation of powers?.
Yours most respectfully,
A.H. Winter
